Olde Fashion Sunday

Well I had a good time.

The train was a nice touch, and the Rotary Club's chicken top notch. The Powow also was an excellent addition.

That's it really. Not much else to day. I hope no one got caught in the deluge.

Oh, and the Yankee Homecoming lovers won the day on the poll! I think we'll take a poll break this week though.

i think the "majority" probably falls within the margin of error.

however, the Rotary always has an excellent BBQ, along with the Greek Food Festival, probably the highlight, food-wise, of the week.

did they do the pancake breakfast again this year? i didn't get there until late.

I didn't see a mention of it. No sign of it either, but we didn't get there until 11 or so.

Next year X. You. Me. Canoe tip. :)

Now, Tom, there's an idea: bloggers (and reporters)slugging it out in the canoe tip. Then we could all ride around together in that little bitty train.

Pancakes were excellent, it ended around 11.
I alway have David's lobster cakes, and shrimp

The Mrs. loved the lobster cake and shrimp. I didn't want to admit to trying them as I might be labeled a newbie pansey.

I concur on David's lobster cakes. Delish!

The shrimp? Meh, nothing that can't be had elsewhere.

I'd forgotten about the Greek fest, but managed to take-home some meatballs and loukanico sausage.

Hi,

Greek Festival #1. And I love the fact its not really during YH.

you get to see the locals before the rush. I was sitting inside with a friend (eating lamb shanks & grape leaves) and in walks my mother. Had no idea she was going to be there and certainly not during the 20 minutes on Friday that i was there.

That's classic old YH.

Mom's rotary to so i'll pass on the comments.

Tom, don't worry about being called a newbie. The locals will all tell you the crab cakes are the best.

thanks,
sds

Train?

Wasn't there some kind of train thingy running around the mall? Train in the loosest sense, that is - I believe it has wheels with tires.
