Pizza Vote 2008

The Domino's are falling. The pizza giant can't seem to buy a vote in the tally to your right.

Meanwhile, Papa Gino's, Abraham's, Flatbread's and Famous are all vying for second. Polling ends Friday at 11:59 p.m.

For the record, Park Lunch hasn't scored a hit yet either. But we all know that Pizza isn't their calling card. That would be Ipswich Clams, as the Daily News noted this week.

I know the support for Papa Gino's is shocking but my brother, who is very picky about his pizza, recently told me that the place makes a surprisingly good pie.

Truth.

Growing up in Revere, Papa Gino's was a favorite. Bill Ash's was best for take out, but PG was the "let's go out to eat place."

My Buy Local leanings won't permit me to eat their pie. Plus, there are so many good alternatives. But I have no doubt about the quality.

I once worked at Papa Gino's so I'm biased about their pies and taste. Pizzeria Uno's, if you want to go with pizza chains, is far superior. Domino's is a joke.

And, I have yet to eat at the Park Lunch so I can't remark on their clams or pizza. I did eat at the Winner's Circle last night, and have since yelped about it.
