Journalism Stuff

Just something for news junkies. A somewhat interesting American Journalism Review article about Community Newspaper Holdings Inc.'s and how they free up reporters to do in-depth series.

I haven't seen any of these series in the locals(CNHI owns the Daily News,) but perhaps I missed something.

Of course, I'm not quite sure how much I'd read about America's crumbling highways, so maybe I haven't missed a thing.

examples of 'in depth' stuff is here. some more "in depth "than others. The Salem News, Gloucester and Tribune site have slightly different content in their " Special Features " sections.

the multimedia stories on the site are other examples of "freeing up" reporters (and photographers).

Fair point Stewie. I didn't mean to suggest our local paper doesn't do any in-depth stuff. The Nantucket Series, the ongoing Plum Island series, and I'm not sure if you're aware of the Port in Progress series that went on last year. Good stuff all.
