How do you figure? The article, which I still can't find on the front page of the web site, is dated 3:23 p.m. Gillian had her post up just after 1 p.m.
That's what blogs do (they scoop the traditional media) and a blogger can do that because a newspaper has to wait for the press release, then try to talk to the parties involved and then put a decent story together.
Nobody was answering the phone in the mayor's office on Wednesday. I was trying for hours to reach someone to talk about the budget. I imagine the DN ran into the same thing, trying to verify possibly before and even after Moak released the official announcement.
The Daily News did what was necessary (and proper), and I was able to write 2 or 3 lines and cut and paste and get it on line before they did.
Everyone who cared found out the same day and that's all that matters.

This obsession with scooping the daily news is getting silly - many of us knew this morning - hours before Gillian's post - so I guess we win !!!
