Hang Up the Phone

I certainly don't need to provide ammo to my esteemed blogger colleague Larry, but this is the lamest thing I've ever read.

A telephone town meeting? For real?

Anyone who works for a large enough employer knows how ineffective conference calls are in exchanging idea.s If someone wants to address the troops, fine. But an exchange of ideas? Forget it.

Tierney should reconsider or please just don't bother at all. This is embarrassing.

Of course, the opposition could be considerably more civil than they currently are. Democrats had to swallow eight years of GOP rule and I don't remember this level of vitriol. Oh right, because we would have been branded unpatriotic for doing so, but now that we're in charge we get to be tyrannical. Amazing how that works.

But perhaps it did happen. I'm sure the liberal media elite just chose not to report on it because they didn't want to portray the Dems negatively. Unless of course, the liberal media elite wanted to further their agenda, then they would have reported on it. No, wait. ....

Google Hits

"Bush Hitler" = 1.2 million

"Bush conspiracy" = 1.4 million

"Bush unpatriotic" - 3.6 million

"Bush stupid" = 9.5 milion

"Bush evil" = 21 million

* * *

How about the eggs thrown at Bush's limo on his first Inauguration Day?

How about the campaign commercials which attempted to tie Bush to the dragging murder of James Byrd?

How about the eight-year meme that Bush stole the Florida election when every count -- including the Miami Herald/USA Today count -- indicated that Bush won?

How about the contention -- voiced by Howard Dean, among other -- that Bush knew about 9/11 in advance and tipped off the Saudis?

Guess none of that counts as vitriol.

Larry doesn't need you for ammo - he's got the 78-yr-old woman.

I'm responsible for half of them so I actually thought they'd be higher after eight years and a war started for questionable purposes.

Let's try our first-year President, who is trying to provide health care to all.

Obama+Anti-Christ=302,000

Obama+terrorist=11.9 million (some due to the ayers connection, admittedly)

Obama+Nazi=6.97 million

Obama+Communist=4.1 million

Obama+traitor=905,000

Obama+Evil=43.7 million, with the most recent hits landing on Sarah Palin's characterization of the health care plan as "evil."

I will admit that many held onto the "Bush stole the election" theory for far too long, but the circmustances of his election were dicey, at least initially. I think any rational person would admit that.

And, not to parse your words, but my quick search on Dean doesn't match your statement. Dean said Bush invited such theories by not releasing vital 9/11 documents. I couldn't find a direct statement that he bought into the theories.
