I arrived at the NRA meeting an hour late last night. I worried that I might have missed some fireworks, but the Daily News article indicates that things went relatively smoothly.
I hope the Masked Preservationist wasn't disappointed by the lack of fisticuffs.

The Masked Preservationist wasn't at the NRA meeting, but apparently "knows" what the NRA is going to do with its property. That's funny, because I don't think the NRA knows yet.
I was at the meeting, and it was surprisingly civil. I think that it was because it was a well-reasoned and professional presentation. Although I don't think it's necessary as it doesn't add to the process, the fireworks will come when the details of any development are being crafted.
Anyone interested in the future of the waterfront should participate as much as they can. I believe that the current NRA does care about what people want and will incorporate good ideas into the final plan.
Joe, your lucid thoughts and easy writing style are beginning to make me a tad self-conscious.
This is MY blog damnit. Get your own.
But you are spot on.
The fights will come and they should. But NRA presented some thoughtful choices, and I think the public responded appropriately.
I wish I'd taken a moment to look for you at last night's meeting, but I'm sure we'll run into each other at future meetings
Sorry about the lucidity and easy writing style ... I'll try to do worse ;-) In the mean time, if you need a fix for a lack of logic and poor writing, check the DN comment section. You'll have more than your fill!
Dave Rogers and I connected via Twitter. He described me as the guy in the Red Sox Shirt with the bushy sideburns.
I took issue with bushy.
I wish someone could refer to my hair as bushy ... sadly those days are down the drain.
That's because it''s not worth fighting over something that will amount to nothing.
I think they call it shadow boxing!

Who was that Masked Man?
As Dave pointed out, he could have described them as gray instead of bushy.
I'm not liking Dave as much.
A question. The Daily News article seemed to imply (to me, anyway) that the land currently under control of the NRA is all the land they ever controlled. Didn't it control, and lead the restoration of, much of what is now downtown?
Tom, wish I had your hair. Bushy gray sideburns and all.
