Drive the Food

Don't forget to grab a bag this weekend if you're at Shaw's.

Private charity is an excellent thing, and the tax code should incentivize it more.

That being said, the House of Representatives will vote for the Obama health care bill in a few hours, and I fear this will set the U.S. much further down the road to serfdom.

The government will now have the power and excuse to regulate every aspect of our lives on the grounds that it impacts health care. Don't eat this. Don't drink that. Don't even think of smoking. Count your calories, on pain of fine. Has the contents of those Shaw's bags been approved by the feds?

ObamaCare, like most government programs, is about enslaving people under the guise of protecting them and redistributing income to favored constituencies.

And, incredibly, most people will acquiesce, happy for the few crumbs that our imperial majesties in Washington hand back.

Sometimes, countries create situations in which the only sane choice is to leave . . . .
