Wow

How the hell do you break a 120-foot long, 60-ton beam? Back it into a parked car?

I know, as an optimist, I should focus on the 26 beams that weren't broken. But I just think that takes some serious doing.

Extra credit....What animal weighs 50 tons?

I lived and worked up here in 1990s. Life and career led me away for a while but I’m very thankful both allowed me to return. A little background, I grew up in Revere. Went to BU. Worked as a reporter at a few newspapers before landing at The Daily News. I moved on from here. I married quite well, and we have two great kids. I kept writing. No more fires or city council meetings. Now I write for a magazine. It's interesting stuff, but I still have a hankering to write about this place. So I do. I also sit on the Newburyport Redevelopment Authority.
